‘X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE’ was utter shit but you really gotta hand it to HUGH JACKMAN. That he seems to love the character is of little doubt – and that’s a refreshing change of pace taking into consideration a Marvel property like HULK.

Bringing Aronofky on board shows that Jackman wants to make the Wolverine movie we all want to see. Now let’s see if they can deliver.

With Darren Aronofsky directing, [HUGH JACKMAN] says that Wolverine 2 will not be a “usual” X-Men movie:

“This is, hopefully for me, going to be out of the box. It’s going to be the best one, I hope.”

Also:

“Chris McQuarrie, who wrote THE USUAL SUSPECTS, has written the script, so that’ll give you a good clue [as to overall tone of the movie between screenwriter and director].”

RYAN REYNOLDS on his involvement and the current state of the DEADPOOL movie:

“…I’m intimately involved with it. We’re just trying to break a story right now and figure out who the villain is going to be and all that stuff. But, it’s going to be just like the comic books. I’m gonna have a messed up face…”

Fox has thrown into development a spinoff featuring Deadpool, the wise-cracking mercenary played in the film by Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds is attached to reprise the character for what for now is simply being called “Deadpool.” Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel Studios would act as producers.

The Deadpool and Gambit scenes were the only thing interesting in the Wolverine movie. Conflicting reports on whether FOX or MARVEL STUDIOS will be producing the movie. With any luck it won’t be FOX whose track record on big budget comic book movies (FANTASTIC FOUR and its sequel, DAREDEVIL, ELEKTRA, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND, LEAGUE OF EXTRAORDINARY GENTLEMEN) is in the toilet.

Fox and Seed are in development on a sequel to “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” which topped the domestic box office over the weekend.

‘X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE’ director GAVIN HOOD on working with HUGH JACKMAN:

“He carries the movie and it’s all about how his character is formed and how he comes to lose his memory. So for the first time both he and I were both exploring the emotional history of the character.”

On deciding on which of the billion mutants in the X-Universe to bring in:

“There are certain characters that fans have been clamoring for, the most notable of which is Gambit. Hugh always said they were looking for an opportunity to bring him into the franchise in a way that felt organic and justified and not just bolted on.”

On spawning a possible GAMBIT or DEADPOOL movie:

“‘X-Men 1’ led to ‘X-Men 2’ and if ‘Wolverine’ could lead to another movie, whether it be a Wolverine movie or a Gambit movie, of course that’s good, not only for the studio but for the fans, but it all depends on how people respond to this movie.”
