Marvel Studios announced that Oscar-nominated actor Stanley Tucci has been cast to star as Dr. Abraham Erskine in the studio’s highly anticipated movie Captain America: The First Avenger opposite Chris Evans, Sebastian Stan, Hugo Weaving, and Hayley Atwell.
In the early comics, Dr. Erskine was a German scientist behind Project Rebirth, the secret experiment that created the Super Soldier known as Captain America.

In MARVEL comic book history, the character Dum Dum Dugan was a part of the military unit THE HOWLING COMMANDOS and was led by NICK FURY who of course has been seen in the IRON MAN movies played by SAMUEL L. JACKSON. SGT. FURY AND HIS HOWLING COMMANDOS had their own Marvel series which ran from 1963-1981 .

Tommy Lee Jones [has been cast] in ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER’ in a still-unknown role. Hayley Atwell, who plays Peggy Carter in the Joe Johnston-directed comic book adaptation, confirmed the news [in the interview below].

VIDEO Rumors place the “Men in Black” star in the part of General Chester Phillips, the military officer who chooses Steve Rogers for the super soldier program and who aided in his training soon after the serum took effect.
In addition to Atwell, Jones is joining Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Toby Jones, Samuel L. Jackson and Dominic Cooper in the July 22, 2011 release.

Sebastian Stan [GOSSIP GIRL, KINGS], one of the actors who tested for the title role of Marvel’s “Captain America” which ultimately went to Chris Evans , has nabbed the key role of Captain America’s sidekick Bucky Barnes.
In comic book lore, Barnes, a teenaged orphan, was too young to join the army but became one camp’s mascot. When he discovered Captain America’s identity, he joined Captain America as a partner in his Nazi-fighting escapades. The character died in Captain America’s final World War II adventure.
Insiders also say Stan has signed on for five or six pictures.

Angelina Jolie is now in “serious talks”… to star in director Robert Rodroguez’s “Sin City 2”…
Jolie would play the iniquitous Ava, the lead character in Miller’s “A Dame to Kill For” story.
In the graphic novel, Ava is an ex-lover of Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen) who manipulates men through her good looks and her supposed innocence.
