Two-time Academy Award winner Daniel Day-Lewis [THERE WILL BE BLOOD, GANGS OF NEW YORK, THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS] will star as the 16th President of the United States in DreamWorks Studios’ Lincoln to be directed by Steven Spielberg [JURASSIC PARK, SCHINDLER’S LIST, SAVING PRIVATE RYAN, CATCH ME IF YOU CAN].

‘LINCOLN’ will focus on the political collision of Lincoln and his cabinet over abolition and the end of the Civil War.

..based on the best-selling book, “TEAM OF RIVALS,” by Pulitzer Prize-winning historian Doris Kearns Goodwin.

GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE Casting Update: CIARAN HINDS As Villian + IDRIS ELBA, VIOLANTE PLACIDO, And JOHNNY WHITWORTH Sign On

CIARAN HINDS (ROME, THERE WILL BE BLOOD), VIOLANTE PLACIDO (THE AMERICAN), IDRIS ELBA (THOR, OBSESSED), and JOHNNY WHITWORTH (CSI: MIAMI, 3:10 TO YUMA) are all in talks or have been confirmed to join the cast of GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE.

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will direct the film, scheduled for release in 3D and 2D on February 17, 2012. Shooting is scheduled to start in November in Romania and Turkey.

The film “sees Johnny Blaze, aka Ghost Rider (Cage), hiding out in remote Eastern Europe and struggling to repress his curse. Blaze is recruited by a sect to take on the devil (Ciaran Hinds), who wants to take over his mortal son’s body on the kid’s birthday.”

Elba plays an alcoholic warrior monk tasked with finding Ghost Rider. Whitworth plays a criminal who is recruited by the devil to find the boy and is later turned into a demonic creature.
