Warner Bros. and a pair of top-tier production banners are in the early stages of a reboot of the 1980s children’s fantasy classic.

The Kennedy/Marshall Co. (“The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”) and Leonard DiCaprio’s shingle Appian Way are in discussions with Warners about reviving the 25-year-old franchise with a modern spin. The studio recently acquired rights to the property, clearing the way for a potential remake.

  1. YAAAY! COOL!

I am wondering who can sing the theme song for the new The NeverEnding Story.

Here is the video for the Neverending Story theme by Limahl…

  2. Hunh.

I’m not sure how I feel about this. Out of the (3?) ‘Neverending Story’ films, I think the first movie is the only one that’s still good in 2009.

Remake part II or III, or just do a whole new movie…

    But leave the original alone!!

  3. I worked on part 2 of the original film as an animator for the creatures and even then I thought it was a bad movie. It all but killed the author Michael Ende. The creatures were wrongly designed and the clunky animatronics did not work as they should have.
Now with modern CG technology the film might work. One could even do the things that were impossible to do at the time the film was made. So DO IT and dont screw up another time.

  4. Along with the remake of the film, I am looking for a producer for The Neverending Story on stage at Javits Convention Center in New York City. Both an opera and ballet score have been composed by Siegfried Matthus. Please visit my website for more details by following the link below.
