THOR About Ready To Smash Some Face
Source: CineFools.com
Writer ASHLEY MILLER on how she and writer ZACK STENTZ became involved with the movie:
“We were in the right place at the right time.”
“That we have a background in genre material and an interest in comic books were big plusses, I think. Owning a complete Walt Simonson run on Thor and being able to wax rhapsodic about Beta Ray Bill didn’t hurt our case.”
Read the entire interview HERE.
THOR will be played by CHRIS HEMSWORTH and LOKI will be played by TOM HIDDLESTON in the KENNETH BRANAGH directed movie which serves as a warm-up for the big AVENGERS movie enchilada. Robert Downey Jr. as IRON MAN and an uncast (as of yet) CAPTAIN AMERICA will also star in the movie that is expected to feature a rampaging HULK as the catalyst that will bring Earth’s Mightiest Heroes together for the very first time.
THRALL WORLD observes that the best news in this interview is the writers familiarity with the very storyline that we began with when reading comic books way back in our wee one days. WALT SIMONSON’s “SURTUR SAGA” is damn good reading even if you’re not the biggest fan of comics. Also a mention of the more modern Thor take from ‘THE ULTIMATES’ in the interview.

Source: DeadlineHollywoodDaily.com, ComingSoon.net
Word on the street is that CHRIS HEMSWORTH (STAR TREK) has landed the role of THOR. Marvel Studios should be making an official anouncement at any moment.
Check out the full scoop HERE and HERE.
[HEMSWORTH is] also reported to [have landed] the lead in MGM’s remake of Red Dawn, taking over the role of Jed Eckert, originally played by Patrick Swayze.
Thor is scheduled to open on May 20, 2011, while Red Dawn is scheduled for release on September 24, 2010.
THRALL WORLD just caught HEMSWORTH in the new STAR TREK movie. He played Captain Kirk’s father in a brief but solid performance.
btw, THOR was the first comic book I ever bought back in the day, a few issues before WALT SIMONSON took over the book on his critically acclaimed SURTUR SAGA. Pretty cool stuffs for my wee self back in the day.
