HULK, THOR, IRON MAN, and CAPTAIN AMERICA will anchor 'THE AVENGERS'

Starting to sound like the plan. But will the Hulk be friend or foe?? THRALL WORLD has heard rumors going as far back as late 2008 of the Hulk actually being the “villian” – a la a rampaging Hulk – which was a typical storyline every few years if you read The Incredible Hulk comic book. At some point when the Hulk went apeshit the heroes of the Marvel Universe had to bring take the big green guy down. And that, of course, was always easier said than done.
The latest from Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige:
“By the time ‘The Avengers’ comes in 2012, it’s not just a team superhero movie with a bunch of characters with powers. It’s three people – four including the Hulk; five including Nick Fury – who you’ve seen before in other movies, coming together for the very first time.”
He also goes on to explain that they want to do a second Hulk movie with ED NORTON but that it definitely will not be until after ‘THE AVENGERS’ hits theaters on May, 4th 2012.
Director Guy Ritchie has set aside the planned “Lobo” film to clear his schedule for a fast-tracked “Holmes” sequel, according to producer Joel Silver.
Silver is a producer of “Holmes” as well as “Lobo.”
Sam Worthington, making his first deal since the success of “Avatar,” is in negotiations to star in “Dracula Year Zero,” a period vampire epic Alex Proyas is set to direct for Universal.
[The movie] explores the origin of Dracula, weaving vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler. It seeks to depict Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war.
MEGADETH will perform 1990’s Rust in Peace, in its entirety, in addition to other MEGADETH set list favorites.

FX’s President and General Manager, John Landgraf, has confirmed that a ‘POWERS’ pilot is in the works and that POWERS creator BRIAN MICHAEL BENDIS is heavily involved. Also: Bendis’s collaborator is KEVIN FALLS who is best known for his work on JOURNEYMAN.
POWERS was a great ride during the dozen or so issues I picked up. Told from the perspective of two detectives who try to get to the bottom of the crime scenes they get called in to solve – which always involve super heroes. POWERS – if it stays true to the comic book and focuses on story and some mature themes – should annihilate HEROES.

Lionsgate, and rights holder Paradox Entertainment have approved Jason Momoa to star in Conan, the rebirth of the Robert E. Howard-created series. The brawny star of Stargate Atlantis who also stars in HBO’s Game of Thrones, Momoa got the nod over Kellan Lutz, the Twilight guy.
Marcus Nispel (FRIDAY THE 13TH remake, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE remake) will direct.
Isla Fisher, Andy Serkis and Tom Wilkinson have joined Simon Pegg in “Burke and Hare,” a horror comedy that marks John Landis’ return to feature directing after more than 10 years.
Written by Piers Ashworth and Nick Moorcroft, “Hare” is based on the true story a pair of the U.K.’s earliest serial killers, William Burke and William Hare, gravediggers who lucratively sold the corpses of their victims to a medical college for dissection.
Serkis, fresh off a leading actor BAFTA nomination for “Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll,” will play Hare opposite Pegg’s Burke.
“Cold Day Memory” was recorded at Groovemaster Studios in Chicago, Illinois with producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, STAIND, MACHINE HEAD).

Paramount has hired screenwriter Michael R. Perry and director Kevin Greutert to create the sequel to 2009’s biggest surprise hit, “Paranormal Activity,” which scared up $151 million in worldwide grosses in the fall on a shoestring $15,000 budget and a shrewd, opt-in Web marketing campaign.
Significantly, Paramount will unleash it in theaters on the pre-Halloween weekend of October 22, which sets it against that date’s reigning champion in previous years, the next installment in Lionsgate’s “Saw” series (this year would be “VII”). In a symbolic twist, Greutert made his directorial debut on the sixth “Saw” film.
In September of 2009, Smashing Pumpkins mainman BILLY CORGAN issued a statement detailing the new collection. Every song will apparently be given away for free and eventually collected into a box set with what THRALL WORLD imagines will be tons of bells and whistles.
IMAX Corporation, Marvel Entertainment and Paramount Pictures today announced that the highly-anticipated action-adventure Iron Man 2, directed by Jon Favreau and starring Robert Downey, Jr., will be released to digital IMAX theaters simultaneously with the film’s worldwide release on May 7, 2010.
