A movie referred to internally as “Justice League of America,” originally said to be for next summer, was planned as one of the studio’s major releases. With that film, starring a superhero team, Warner hoped to spark interest in DC characters like Green Lantern who haven’t yet attained the level of popularity of Batman. But script problems, among other things, have delayed the movie.
Warner Bros. also put on hold plans for another movie starring multiple superheroes — known as “Batman vs. Superman” — after the $215 million “Superman Returns,” which had disappointing box-office returns, didn’t please executives. “‘Superman’ didn’t quite work as a film in the way that we wanted it to,” says Mr. Robinov. “It didn’t position the character the way he needed to be positioned.” “Had ‘Superman’ worked in 2006, we would have had a movie for Christmas of this year or 2009,” he adds. “But now the plan is just to reintroduce Superman without regard to a Batman and Superman movie at all.”
Four years after his character Richard B. Riddick last graced the silver screen, and some years after telling reporters that there would be another Riddick film in his future, Vin Diesel told MTV News that he no longer thinks there will one day be a Riddick sequel.
He now thinks there will be two.
“David Twowy right now is writing the scripts. The only question is whether we take a page from the ‘Lord of the Rings’ guys and try to shoot the two chapters at the same time. There are two more in mind,” he said of Riddick…

I actually woke up from a dream that OBAMA had picked HILLARY CLINTON and I was like hmm… I wonder if he sent out the text message yet.
I’m pretty sure BIDEN trashed OBAMA on his inexperience during the Dem debates last year. (confirmed by the official response of the MCCAIN campaign below)
All in all a good pick even if you get the feeling the ticket should be reversed.
The MCCAIN camp has wasted no time in adding their two cents on Obama’s running mate choice:

A three and a half minute deleted scene from IRON MAN, which will be included on the DVD release, has been posted HERE.
Former LIMP BIZKIT/current BLACK LIGHT BURNS member Wes Borland has joined MARILYN MANSON as the group’s new guitarist. The news was announced by Manson himself at a press conference earlier today ahead of his band’s appearance tomorrow (Friday, August 15) at the ETP Festival in Seoul, Korea.
Manson said, “We have a new guitar player that’s gonna play for the first time tomorrow; it’s the first time we’ll play on stage [together]. His name is Wes Borland and he used to be in a really terrible band that he left because he felt that it was a destructive force in art, and he has his own band, BLACK LIGHT BURNS, but now he is in MARILYN MANSON. We don’t know how permanent that is, but starting tomorrow will be the first step. So this will be the most indestructible MARILYN MANSON.”

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails has been in talks in with HBO about making a two-season maxi-series out of “Year Zero,” the dark future tale that Reznor has chronicled in his music as well as in a celebrated Alternate Reality Game (ARG) with the same title that was created by 42 Entertainment.
“It’s the most exciting thing on the horizon, it’s the thing that when I wake up in the morning it makes me say, ‘God it would be cool if that happened,” Reznor told me this week while sitting backstage before a Nails concert in Toronto. “This is my grand ambition. Will it happen? I don’t know. It was fun sitting and telling [the HBO] guys and watching them shake their head and having writers on board and producers that are in to it. It’s been a fun thing.”

SCI FI Channel today announced an all-new “Battlestar Galactica” special event, set to air in 2009 following the conclusion of the series and then released on DVD by Universal Studios Home Entertainment shortly thereafter. Directed by series star Edward James Olmos and written by “Battlestar Galactica’s” Jane Espenson, the two-hour event will begin shooting in Vancouver at the end of this summer. The cast includes Michael Trucco, Aaron Douglas and Dean Stockwell, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
Starting before the events of the miniseries, our story focuses on familiar characters including Cylon Number One, known as Cavil (Stockwell), Resistance Leader Sam T. Anders (Trucco) and Chief Galen Tyrol (Douglas). In the beginning, the Cylons had a plan, but it didn’t account for one thing: survivors. During the chaotic aftermath of the destruction, two powerful Cylon agents struggle with plots and priorities on the human ships that got away, and among the resistance fighters who were left behind.
The series is from Universal Cable Productions and is executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick.
The final 10 episodes of “Battlestar Galactica” will begin airing on SCI FI Channel in 2009.
