Wanna make music with 80’s rock legends Slash and Duff from GUNS N’ ROSES? All you VR wannabes dust off those camcorders, your time is coming.

Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash tells Billboard.com that the band is creating a web site to audition singers. The new site will help Velvet Revolver replace Scott Weiland, whose April 1 dismissal from the band continued the public feud between the ex-frontman and his former bandmates.

“The band is actually talking about building a Web site [and] doing some auditions via that, so that’s been something that’s developing at this point,” Slash explains, noting that it should be happening “in the next month or so.”

Make sure you wear some MARAZENE swag at the audition and tell’em DieTrich sent ya.

Source: Variety, Coming Soon

Now that the end is in sight for BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, what’s next on deck for the very talented Ronald D. Moore? I’m very excited to be able to report that in addition to scripting the remake of ‘THE THING’, Mr. Moore will also be involved with the following:

“Battlestar Galactica” showrunner Ronald D. Moore has signed with United Artists to create and write a sci-fi trilogy, reports Variety. UA is keeping details of the project under wraps.

Moore has written extensively for TV and film, with feature credits on Mission: Impossible II, Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Generations.

UA is run by Tom Cruise and producing partner Paula Wagner, who said, “Over the last decade Ron has emerged as the foremost sci-fi, fantasy creator, writer in the industry and working with him to bring his creative talents to the big screen is a great partnership for our studio.”

MARILYN MANSON Lawsuit Update

April 18, 2008

MARILYN MANSON

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=95131

The Associated Press reports that Marilyn Manson can proceed with a breach-of-contract lawsuit against an ex-bandmate.

A judge in Los Angeles on Thursday threw out one claim but ruled most of the suit can move forward to trial.

Manson was not in court for the ruling.

Former keyboardist Stephen Bier sued the shock rocker last year, claiming Manson owes him more than $20 million in shared profits.

Manson countersued, claiming Bier breached obligations involving band recordings, concerts and promotions.

Bier’s lawyers unsuccessfully sought to have the countersuit dismissed on grounds that it was too vague.
