Warner Bros. has settled on Ryan Reynolds as its choice to play “Green Lantern,” the studio’s live-action tentpole based on the DC Comics hero. The film is being directed by Martin Campbell and produced by Donald De Line and Greg Berlanti.
[Screenwriter Marc] Guggenheim confirmed that his script will focus on Hal Jordan, based on the Silver Age DC Comics incarnation of the superhero, and how he became a member of the Green Lantern Corps.
In a decision announced Wednesday, U.S. Judge District Court Judge Stephen G. Larson found that the license fees the studio paid to corporate sibling DC Comics didn’t represent “sweetheart” deals as they weren’t below fair market value. That means the heirs will be able seek profits only from DC Comics — which earned $13.6 million from Warner Bros. for the 2006 release of “Superman Returns” — rather than from Warner Bros. as well.
Beyond that…
The judge, who conducted a 10-day bench trial, also noted that Warner Bros. chairman Alan Horn had testified that he hopes to make another “Superman” movie but added that the property wasn’t under development at the studio, that no script had been written and that the earliest another “Superman” pic could be released would be in 2012.
[Attorney Marc] Toberoff [who represents heirs Joanne Siegel and Laura Siegel Larson] also asserted in a written statement that the Siegel heirs and the heirs of co-creator Joe Shuster will own the entire Superman copyright in 2013.
It’s not clear what the copyright and licensing future is for DC Comics which is a bit out of left field. If we had to guess? No new movie until post copyright turnover.

“I do not know of anything. I’m sure that Warner Bros. is moving there, but everything is still uncertain. Really, I do not know anything.”
Another key reveal? Routh confirmed he has no contract to play the super-hero.
“The term contract has expired. But if they call me again, back to the character without thinking twice.”

A single mega-colony of ants has colonised much of the world, scientists have discovered.
Argentine ants living in vast numbers across Europe, the US and Japan belong to the same inter-related colony, and will refuse to fight one another.
Small Argentine Ants Attack A Much Larger Harvester Ant
The colony may be the largest of its type ever known for any insect species, and could rival humans in the scale of its world domination.
Areas Infested By Argentine Ants In Red
In Europe, one vast colony of Argentine ants is thought to stretch for 6,000km (3,700 miles) along the Mediterranean coast, while another in the US, known as the “Californian large”, extends over 900km (560 miles) along the coast of California. A third huge colony exists on the west coast of Japan.

About the new BK ad campaign? Apparently a lot. The below ad has been deemed “distasteful” (whu-? But why!?)…
Burger King Ads: It's Either This Or That Creepy King Dude...
Lauren Kuziner, a spokeswoman for Burger King, said the campaign was produced by a local Singaporean agency and not by the company’s U.S. advertising firm, Crispin Porter + Bogusky.
“Burger King Corp. values and respects all of its guests,” Kuziner said in a statement to FOXNews.com. “This print ad is running to support a limited time promotion in the Singapore market and is not running in the U.S. or any other markets.
Puh-leeze… and wtf!? No U.S. markets? You mean we’re going to have to keep on seeing those ads with that dipshit/creepy king running around like a jackass??
That Creepy King Dude...
The sadness eminating from all of us here at THRALL WORLD cannot be denied…
Dimension Films has set its sights on remaking John Landis’ 1981 cult classic horror “An American Werewolf in London.” Overture execs-turned-producers Sean and Bryan Furst are on board to produce.
Landis wrote and directed the comedy-horror film, which starred David Naughton and Griffin Dunne as two American backpackers hiking in the Yorkshire moors attacked by a mysterious animal who turns out to be a werewolf. Naughton ends up terrorizing London while Dunne is a reanimated corpse suggesting ways for Naughton to kill himself and stop the curse.
